The Music of Stephen & Jill Jensen

 Both born in Lubbock Texas, and knowing of each other from afar, Stephen & Jill reunited and married in 2019. Part of their long-distance courtship was sending recordings of their music to each other. Once they could actually sit side-by-side at the piano, their choral and vocal arrangements were born. 

Stephen Jensen began studying piano as a child after his mother noticed him playing songs by ear at the age of 3. He studied percussion as a teenager, performing in percussion ensembles, bands (concert, jazz, marching) and orchestras at school, local churches and community groups including the Lubbock Youth Symphony Orchestra and Plainview Symphony Orchestra. He was 1st chair percussionist in numerous all-region bands and orchestras, as well as the Texas All-State Symphonic Band. He studied music performance at the University of Michigan for a year prior to earning his BBA and MBA from the University of Texas. For 20+ years Stephen has been an accompanist at the organ and piano for various church congregations and choirs, school choirs and vocal soloists. Stephen is also a member of the Houston Symphony Chorus. 

His full-time position in the energy industry pays the bills, for now.

Jill Jensen is an accomplished vocalist, choral director, theater director and music educator. She began studying violin at the age of 3, eventually picking up voice and piano lessons. She was a two-year Texas All-State Soprano and was awarded a scholarship to the Texas Tech University School of Music, where she graduated with a degree in music education with an emphasis in vocal and choral music. During college, she was a member of the esteemed Madrigal Singers who performed throughout the community and toured Europe. She has sung with the Fort Worth Opera, Houston Symphony Chorus, the Ken Davis Chorale and continues to solo for various events.

Professionally, she was a middle school choir director for 6 years and has been a private voice, violin and piano teacher for 29 years. Her community groups won awards, and many students have gone on to study music in college. Jill has had the opportunity to direct many church choirs through the years. It's a treat to have her husband as her accompanist.

This husband-wife team believe their paths crossed for more than one purpose. Life has led them to a place of composing unique pieces that only they can create together. Now, their passion is to distribute quality music, enabling performers to elevate and magnify their musical offerings for the enjoyment of audiences, congregations, online viewers or wherever their musical journey takes them.
